I have a major crush on this guy in one of my classes. I haven’t gotten the courage to talk to him, and it seems like time is just flying by this semester. He’s absolutely gorgeous and seems like a pretty cool dude. What can I do to get this attractive stranger’s attention before we all leave for summer break?
I am probably not the best person to ask when it comes to approaching crushes. I’m usually the one who:
A. Runs in the other direction
B. Looks down blushing
C. Or stares blankly from afar thinking of something to say until I run out of time and have to go to class and take a test (this happened recently btw).
Since I want to help you NOT make the mistakes I have made when approaching a crush, I will start with saying, JUST GO FOR IT! He isn’t going to bite. Since you are in the same class, start with a question about the homework, or an assignment you had to do. It gives you a perfect excuse to talk to him, even if you are lost for words on what to say to him. Also, be yourself. Don’t change your voice, clothes or attitude for this boy. Many guys have told me confidence is sexy in a girl, so definitely approach him with a positive attitude and a smile! You will absolutely regret not approaching this guy if you don’t act soon, and I tell you that from personal experience. Campus is huge so you can’t just say “I’ll see him around next semester” because most likely, you won’t. You just have to go for it, don’t let your fear get in the way. You have to kick all the insecurities to the side, believe that you are an absolute catch, and that this guy has no reason not to talk to you. If you do talk to him and he’s a complete ass, then he’s a loser and isn’t worth it. You will never know though until you say hello! You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.
I feel like I have the worst fashion sense ever. I walk around campus and see nothing but cute outfits that I wish appeared in my closet. I go to the mall and feel lost in all the stores. I just don’t know what to wear, or even what to buy. I want new clothes, but I’m scared to give up my jeans and plain t-shirt. Do you have any ideas on how to spice up my wardrobe?

Dear Lack of Fashion Sense,
In order to spruce up your wardrobe, you probably should look what is in your closet first. If you see a pattern of a certain article of clothing, it is probably best you get rid of it. Donate unwanted clothes to Goodwill or a homeless shelter so they can be put to good use! I suggest getting a Pinterest account and looking on the fashion board, or if you just want to look at one without signing up, I’ll leave a link to mine at the end of the question. There are tons of cute outfit ideas that often have links to where you can get the clothes. One suggestion I have is not just going to the mall, but going to stores such as Ross, Burlington, and Savers. You need patience. Look and you can often find a great top for a good price that goes with everything! Most of the clothes I often get complimented on are often from Ross. Also, if you are looking to spruce up your wardrobe, accessories are a MUST! A scarf can turn a simple t-shirt and jeans into a cute outfit. Necklaces, bracelets, and hair pieces often stand out as well and are great for the spring and summer. Look for a colorful necklace or bracelet. For example, a bright colored necklace always goes great with a dark shirt. Bows are also cute, too! A store suggestion I have is Charming Charlie in the uptown mall. They have the most adorable accessories with pretty affordable prices! They have clothes that you can check out as well. Also, since it’s close to summer make sure to stock up on sandals and flats. They go cute with any outfit and are comfy to wear as well. One last tip is to try stuff on! See what looks good on you, and what you are comfortable in. Associates at the store are often willing to help if you aren’t sure what to try on. Happy shopping!
